Ribbed Glass Coffee Cup with Handle

A ceramic mug keeps your coffee to itself. This one doesn't! The espresso sinking through the milk, the clean line where the foam begins, all of it visible through clear borosilicate glass. Vertical ribbing runs the full height of the body, catching whatever light is in the room and breaking it into soft highlights, so a plain morning coffee looks like something you chose rather than something you grabbed. The walls are kept thin, which makes the mug noticeably lighter to lift than stoneware of the same size, and the wide curved handle leaves room for two or three fingers instead of pinching them against hot glass.

At 350ml it takes a full cappuccino, latte, mocha or flat white with room left for foam, and the straight-sided shape works just as well for loose leaf tea, hot chocolate, iced coffee or a long cordial in summer. It stands 11cm tall and 8cm across, 12.4cm including the handle, so it sits comfortably under most coffee machine spouts and stores easily on a shelf. Borosilicate glass resists heat well, and the mug can go in the microwave and the dishwasher; though a rinse by hand with a soft cloth will keep the ribbing at its clearest over the years.
